I’m so thankful you are here! I truly believe God brought you here today for a purpose, to learn the true gift of the✨magic✨ of motherhood.

What did you come here looking for today? Are you a burned out mom? Do you struggle with anxiety? Are you wondering what my motherhood journey looks like? Are you a SAHM? Are you wondering what a SAHM does day? Are you wondering what having 3 littles looks like? Well, you are about to gain all the answers to these questions and more!

Now, a little about me:

My name is Gracie Pratt. I have been married to the LOVE of my life and greatest gift, my husband, Brooks Pratt for almost 8 years. The Lord has blessed us with three precious children: Vivian (4), Mary Catherine (2), and Parker (2 months). We live in a small town in North Mississippi. We love the Lord and daily dedicate our lives to the service of Him. I am currently a stay-at-home-mother. I have been a full time SAHM for three years. I am also a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. I attended Northeast MS Community College, Ole Miss, and then Southern MS College for graduate school to earn my Masters Degree. After earning my Masters Degree, Brooks and I got married in Corinth, MS at the First Presbyterian Church of Corinth. I then moved to Madison, MS while my husband finished medical school at UMMC. While living in Madison, I worked as an SLP at a skilled nursing home facility and worked with the geriatric population. After 9 months, I earned my clinical certification and moved back to my hometown to work for an outpatient clinic for five AMAZING years called King Speech Language Therapy Clinic! Shout out to the owner and one of my best friends, Ruth Ann King.❤️ I would definitely say the Lord knew what he was doing when he helped me choose my career as an SLP because I use the skills I learned in school and in my practice daily as a mama. After Brooks finished residency at NMMC, he began working with his father in Corinth, MS as a family medicine doctor. We are both “family centered” folks and love spending our time with our children, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. I have two siblings, Lauren and Houston, who I love so much! Getting to experience motherhood with your sister is the BEST!!! Brooks has two siblings: Shelby and Brady. Shelby, I’m so thankful we get to raise daughters who are 12 weeks apart in age!

I would also like to brag I have the best mom friend group called “Mom Brain”. The amazing moms in my mom group have helped me become the mom I am today! Plus many other moms who I love hanging out with to keep me sane and grounded in this motherhood journey. Love y’all!🫶

Now back to the reason you are probably her, the story of motherhood…

Motherhood started for me 5 years ago in May of 2021 following the Pandemic. I was so confident that I had everything going for me to be the BEST mother. First off, my degree was centered around child development. I also was and still are blessed that we live close to both sides of our family. I also have the most supportive husband in the world, who was a busy physician in residency at the time working 12 hour shifts (days and nights). Needless to say motherhood unfortunately didn’t come as easy as I envisioned it would.

I can’t wait to share my birth stories of all 3 of my children, one of which was a natural hospital birth with no epidural, but I’m saving that as a carrot to get you to come back and read more.😉

I STRUGGLED, in every way possible. Vivian refused to breastfeed due to feeding difficulties which then that led to me experiencing guilt and PPD. I also didn’t have the immediate bonding with her that I hoped I would. It honestly took 6 months for that to happen for me. But after many ups and downs and having 2 more children and lots of motherhood “practice” I’m finally experiencing the true “magic” of motherhood thanks to the Lord!!! I hope you will come back and read more.🫶I have tons of ideas about where this blog will go next so stay tuned to my socials to see when the next blog post will drop!
